About Rick Gillit

Rick has lived in Colorado Springs for 16 years. It’s where he and his wife, Ashley, started their family, where he opened his small business, and he became a community leader. Throughout his life in Colorado Springs, Rick has sought out opportunities to give back, support our city’s out, and enhance our quality of life in Colorado Springs.

Husband & Father

Rick is an active father to a 10 year old, a loving husband, and a man of faith. Once elected, Rick would be the only member of City Council with school aged children. Rick uniquely understands the challenges facing Colorado Springs families, because he’s living them right with us.

Coach

Rick is a high school lacrosse coach and is the President of the Pike Peak Mutton Busters. Rick is passionate about serving our community’s youth and helping make the connections to athletics, rodeo, and success in life.

Small Business Owner

After a successful career in banking and finance, Rick started his own insurance business. Today, he is a successful small business owner and employer.

Community Leader

Growing up in a military family and a father who became a pastor after serving our country, a sense of service was engrained into Rick from a young age. Rick serves on the District 12 District Accountability Committee, the Rocky Mountain State Games Commission, the Ramrod Chair for the Pikes Peak or Bust Rodeo, President of Peak education, and the Peak Foundation Board.Rick’s deep sense of service is exactly why he is running for City Council.
